Merchandiser and Supplier of the Year Finalists
The National Association of Recording
Merchandisers (NARM) has announced the finalists for its 2008
Merchandiser and Supplier of the Year Awards, which recognize
outstanding industry achievement among retailers, wholesalers,
distributors, entertainment software suppliers, and suppliers of related
products and services.
"We congratulate all these companies and wish
them luck as the final voting moves forward," said NARM President Jim
Donio.
NARM members nominated trading partners in the
various industry segments, and those companies with the most nominations
were named as finalists. The Retailer, Wholesaler, Distributor and
Entertainment Software Supplier of the Year Awards will be given in the
small, medium and large categories, which are based on the NARM dues
structure. Finalists for the Related Suppliers Award were chosen from
all companies within this member category regardless of size. One award
will be presented in this category.
NARM uses an equitable online voting process
to choose finalists. All NARM member companies are invited to vote for
trading partner finalist companies based on a concise criteria specific
to each member category.
The list of 2008 finalists is
below.
Winners will be announced at NARM's 50th
Anniversary Gala Dinner on Wednesday, May 7. The Gala Dinner will be
held as part of NARM's 50th Annual Convention scheduled to take place
May 4-7 at the San Francisco Marriott. The Gala Dinner will also feature
performances by Universal Motown recording artist Michael McDonald and
Decca Records' Delta Goodrem. The legendary BB King, will be presented
with the NARM Chairman's Award For Sustained Creative Achievement and
Jackson Browne will receive the Harry Chapin Memorial Humanitarian
Award.
