The July 1 NARM/DDEX Workshop held in NYC was a huge success. The event, titled "Identification Standards and Metadata Consistency In The Music Industry Workshop," drew nearly 100 attendees for an in-depth discussion of the “rules” to presenting metadata and other pain points in the supply chain of digital music and video assets. The Wall Street Journal reported that retailers won an important and economically valuable victory with respect to debit-card interchange fees, as well as the ability to provide a discount for use of cash instead of debit and require a minimum $10 transaction for the use of a debit card.
