The NARM Mobile Applications Work Group works under the auspices of the New Formats Committee to bring together the content community and mobile service providers, as well as online retailers who provide mobile applications, to identify, discuss and resolve common needs and issues. The goals of the Work Group are to:

1. Share information on applications technology currently being used, establish a common reference, and define best practices on designs and navigation for applications.
2. Better understand sales, traffic and usage of applications by the consumer by platform, carrier, etc., and establish information reporting standards.
3. Define and discuss the publishing issues that make the process of clearances so complicated – not just in the United States, but globally.
