Industry veteran Jack Eugster, the
retiring President and Chief Executive Officer of the Musicland Group, will accept
the National Association of Recording Merchandisers’ Presidential Award for
Sustained Executive Achievement at the Association’s 43rd Annual
Convention & Trade Show March 11-14 at the Orlando World Center Marriott.
Eugster, who joined Musicland in 1980,
reshaped the product offerings and store configurations of the company,
eventually leading it to become the largest retailer of prerecorded
entertainment products in the United States.
“Jack’s
support of NARM over the years has been steadfast and substantial,” notes NARM
President Pamela Horovitz. “His personal contributions as a member and past
president of our Board of Directors were complemented by his generous
accommodation of a variety of Musicland’s executives participating in NARM's
programs and projects that have helped better the industry. I am delighted to
be able to present this Award.”
NARM serves the music and other
prerecorded entertainment software industry as the pre-eminent forum for
insight and dialogue for its more than 1,100 member retailers, wholesalers,
distributors, entertainment software suppliers, and suppliers of related
products and services.
