NARM Blog: Countdown To RSD10!
It’s just five days until Record Store Day 2010. NARM is once again extremely pleased and proud to be a sponsor of this auspicious event.
In the past three years, this effort by an exceptionally focused and determined group of entrepreneurs and their trading partners has grown and developed from a brainstorm to a worldwide celebration. RSD has achieved not only significant commercial success and incredibly positive PR for the music industry, but become a catalyst for creative expression. With a staggering 150+ exclusive music and related products for fans, RSD has sparked the artist and label communities to not just provide support, but to use the event as an opportunity to inspire and be inspired.
Buoyed by these unprecedented contributions, an amazing list of planned (and I’m certain, unplanned) appearances and performances and, without question, the recent adjustment in Nielsen SoundScan’s categorization of independent stores for its sales reporting, I believe we’re going to see an even more amazing outcome for RSD10 than either of its arguably extremely successful predecessors.
