At "Mini-NARM"

Catch a performance by Windham Hills Janis Ian on Friday evening, September 12 |
Veteran singer/song-writer Janis Ian and Adult Alternative
band Strange Angels are scheduled to perform at NARMs 1997 Fall Conference, which is
set for September 11 through 14 at Marriotts Laguna Cliffs Resort in Dana Point,
California.
Attendees can catch Janis Ians act on Friday, September 12, following the dinner and
program. Strange Angels will be featured in a special showcase on Saturday evening,
September 13.
Thirty years after she emerged as a child prodigy in a
hippie world, Janis Ian is writing and singing songs as powerfully as ever. Her debut
album for Windham Hill Records, Hunger, is a showcase for this talented
composer-performer. She has found a way to translate her extraordinary gifts into every
era of modern American popular song.

Strange Angels, Tribe Records, will be showcased on Saturday
evening, September 13 |
Winner of three Grammys, Ians songs have been
recorded by everyone from Stan Getz to Bette Midler, from Glen Campbell to Vanilla Fudge.
She was among the guitarists chosen to salute the legendary Chet Atkins at an all-star
gala earlier this year.
Ians talent as an instrumentalist are apparent on
Hunger, but she still creates extraordinary social commentary songs. The woman who gave us
Roberta Flacks Jesse and Amy Grants What About The
Love presents tender love songs, tunes boasting powerful lyrics and others full of
resentment and fury.
Passionate intensity...melodic accessibility...raw
and earthy delivery...electrifying song writingjust a few of the accolades

The World), has won the hearts, souls and minds of thousands. Its newest release

in the rich tapestry of life.
Strange Angels features Kevin Fisher on lead vocals and
guitar, with David James providing rich harmonies on vocals, acoustic guitar, mandolin,
and violin. Peter Tornell on drums and Jeff Alan on bass round out the band. Altogether,
