Official NARM Convention & Trade Show Web Site To Go Live February
12 This year marks the
launch of NARM’s first official Online Convention & Trade Show
Directory. Visitors will be able to search online for exhibitors and
attendees by company and individual, link to sponsors and their sites,
find out up-to-date Convention programming information, sign in at a
guestbook, and get daily Convention & Trade Show bulletins. Companies
can increase their exposure with online advertising. Contact Naylor

President Judy McGrath To Deliver Convention Keynote Address NARM is pleased to
announce that Judy McGrath, President of the MTV Group and Chairman of
Interactive Music, will present the keynote address at the Opening

NARM Presidential Award Noted
radio personality and pop culture icon Casey Kasem will accept the NARM
Presidential Award for Sustained Executive Achievement during the Awards
Banquet at the NARM Convention & Trade Show. Kasem will also emcee
the Awards Banquet, announcing and presenting the winners of the
Merchandisers and Suppliers Of The Year Awards. The event will be the

Convention Schedule Update: Digital Music Super Session Expanded The Digital Music Super Session scheduled for the
2001 NARM Convention & Trade Show has been expanded and split into
two parts. The first part, which will be Monday, March 12, from 2-4 PM,
will feature a panel of research analysts from Adams Media Research,
Arbitron, Cyber Dialogue, Jupiter Communications, and Webnoize
discussing their latest findings and forecasts. The second part, which
is scheduled for Tuesday, March 13, from 9-11:30 AM, will focus on
qualitative and quantitative research into consumers’ experiences with
various aspects of digital music delivery. Jon Fay of Mercer Management
Consulting will share the results of this research, including video
clips from national focus groups, and conduct a live demonstration. Click here for the

For Convention And Club NARM Showcase Artist performances
for the 2001 Convention & Trade Show program have been confirmed.
Based on attendees’ call for more music, this year NARM will be
offering almost double the amount of live music over last year’s
event. Pop artist Brooke Allison, 2K Sounds, has been added to the
line-up at the Scholarship Banquet and Country music artist Jessica
Andrews, DreamWorks Records Nashville, will perform at the Closing
Session. At
the Club NARM Showcase on Sunday, March 11, Pru, Capitol Records; Doc
Powell, Gold Circle Label Group/Samson Records; and Joe Henry, Mammoth
Records; will round out the evening. Rounder Records will celebrate its
30th Anniversary at the Showcase on Monday, March 12, with
artists Sarah Harmer, The Cash Brothers and Cowboy Junkies. On Tuesday,
March 13, the Welk Music Group and Vanguard Records will present Shanna
Morrison, Butterfly Jones and John Hiatt. For

Ballots Mailed Ballots for selecting the Merchandiser and
Supplier Of The Year Awards have been mailed to judging companies.
Please look for the package in the mail and return your ballot to Pat

Items The NARM Scholarship Foundation is still
soliciting items for the Fourth Annual Silent Auction that will be held
in conjunction with the Scholarship Foundation dinner at the NARM
Convention & Trade Show next March in Orlando. Donor forms have been
sent; look for them in your mail or on the NARM Web site. For more
information, contact Pat Daly at daly@narm.com or call 856.596.2221. 10. Convention Family Daycare Facilities Available The Lollipop Lounge, the Orlando World Center
Marriott’s daycare facility, will be available to Convention attendees
on a daily basis from 8 AM-11 PM. The supervised program, designed for
children ages 4 through 12, offers a large variety of activities.
Advanced reservations are encouraged. The fee is $7 per child per hour.
